GRADUATE FASHION WEEK - LONDON

LSAD's  first  outing  at  Graduate  Fashion  Week   was  a  great  success. We  got  lots  of  positive  feedback  regarding  the  high  quality  of  work  on  display  and  the  originality  of   ideas, particularily  in  relation  to  manipulation  of  fabric  and  texture. Execution  of  drawing  and  illustration  was  also  commented  on, and  the  display  of  sketchbooks  was  a  real  hit! We  suceeded  in  placing  LSAD  on  the  radar  for  prospective  students. It  was  also  great  to  see  some  of  our  past  students  who  are  now  working  in  London  who  took  time  to  pay  us  a  visit  at  GFW.

There  was  lots  to  see  and  do  with  catwalk  shows  every  2  hours  and  guest  speakers  such  as  Susie  Bubble  from   http://www.stylebubble.co.uk/  - check  out  her  write-up  on  GFW- , designer  Henry  Holland  from  House  of  Holland,  talks  by  legendary  fashion  journalists  Colin  McDowell  and  Hillary  Alexander, portfolio  and  C.V  workshops  with  recruitment  agencies, photoshoots  by  Nick  Knight  and  lots  more............

We  learned  a  lot  from  other  colleges  particularily  in  relation  to  presentation. It  was  also  a  great  opportunity  to  meet  with  staff  from  other  colleges  who  were  very  open  and  generous  with  their  advise  and  experience. We  also  made  vital  contacts  with  industry  which  will  assist  in   furthur  progression  of  our  course  at  LSAD.

Here's  looking  forward  to  a  bigger  and  better  display  for  next  year  and  maybe  even  a  coveted  catwalk  show!
