London Trip

The  LSAD  Fashion  Department, staff  and  students,  are  just  back  from  London. The  annual  research  and  fabric  buying  trip  was  a  great  success  and  Final  Collections  are  now  well  underway. Some  of  the  highlights  of  the  trip  included  the  Isabella  Blow  Exhibition  at  Somerset  House, Club  to  Catwalk  at  the  V&A, Festival  of  Imagination  at  Selfridges, and  Dover  Street  Market  which  is  always  a  treat!

Staff  and  students  also  visited  the  Fashion  Department  at  the  Royal  College  of  Art  where 2nd  year  MA  Students  showed  us  their  work  in  progress  for  their  final  collections. We  also  had  a  fantastic  tour  of  the  workshops  and  studios.

Sarah Ryan - London Fashion Week - Ones To Watch

Sarah Ryan,  has  been named  among  Fashion Scout's Ones To Watch for the autumn/winter 2014 season and will showcase  her collection  at London Fashion Week.

Previous Ones To Watch Fashion Scout alumni have included Eudon Choi, Hermione de Paula, Phoebe English and David Longshaw. This year's selection was chosen by an industry panel that included Hilary Alexander and designer Georgia Hardinge.

Kerry Fashion Week Finalists 2014

Congratulations  to  current  4th  year  Fashion  Students  who   are  finalists  in  the  Irish  Fashion  Industry  Awards  at  Kerry  Fashion  Week  which  will  be  taking  place  from  Monday  3rd - Saturday  8th  March.

Persil Design Awards

Congratulations  to  Nicole  Jackson  who  has  been  selected  to  represent  LSAD  in  the  Persil Fashion  Awards  2014

Europe Rising Fashion Designers

Work  from  Limerick  School  of  Art and  Design  Graduates  Rebecca  Marsden, Ciara  Sheridan, Clare  Chambers, Clare  Silke  and  Roisin  Murphy  feature  in  the  publication  Europe  Rising Fashion Designers. LSAD  were  among  the  21  colleges  from  the  UK  and  Europe  selected  to  participate  which  include  Central  Saint  Martins, The  Royal  College  of  Art, and  London  College  of  Fashion.

Graduate Una Burke listed among 53 Irish women to watch out for in 2014




A cuff designed by Una was worn by Jennifer Lawrence in character as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games, and Nicki Minaj has previously been spotted in one of her bolero jackets. Expect a lot more celebrities to be sporting Úna Burke pieces in 2014.

Rebecca Marsden wins HOMI Maker Design Award - Milan


Congratulations  to  Rebecca  Marsden - 2012  Fashion  Graduate - who  has  just  been  awarded  the  HOMI Maker  Design  Award  in  Milan
The competition is aimed at young, designer makers, artisans, artists who have not yet turned 35 years of age on 1st January 2014.
The applicants can be: artisans; artists; holders of diploma and/or graduates coming from all levels of art and design schools; young people in a phase of
starting a business.
HOMI MAKER DESIGN AWARD is an initiative of HOMI in association with Artex, Centre for Artistic and Traditional Handicrafts of Tuscany and under the patronage of CNA and Confartigianato.
