L.S.A.D. KNITWEAR EXHIBITING IN GERMANY

2nd year students from the Fashion Dept. and 1st year students from the new Fashion Knitwear & Textiles BA course have joined forces to design and make a collection of garments  for  the  German yarn  company ‘Schoeller Sussen GmbH’. The full collection of ten pieces were on exhibit on the ‘Schoeller, Austermann’ stand at the Handarbeit fair in Cologne, Germany on March 22/23/24th 2014.

In addition to this element, Austermann have introduced ‘LANDLUST’ (publishers of hand knitting patterns in Germany) to the project and four students have designed and produced hand knitting instructions for this company.

The pieces were made with a combination of hand knitting & machine knitting techniques, using a selection of yarns from the ‘Austermann’ hand knitting range.

The subsequent photo shoot was student led, with the students choosing models, styling hair and makeup.
